Where to Stay
PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART CRAFT SHOW
The 25th Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show will be held at the
Pennsylvania Convention Center November 8 - 11, 2001, preview on November
7th.
The Convention Center is a new facility with one large unencumbered
exhibition space. There is ample room for booths and large crowds, and
it is conveniently located to restaurants, shops and public transportation.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is presented annually for
the benefit of the Philadelphia Museum of Art by The Women's Committee
and Craft Show Committee. Funds raised are used to purchase works of
art and craft for the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum
of Art, and to support exhibitions and education programs, and to fund
conservation and publication projects. Proceeds have also endowed curator
ships and have helped to make possible special undertakings such as
the recently completed reinstallation of the Museum's European collections.
In May 2001, the jurors will select 195 craft artists from a field
of more than 1400 applicants. Craft categories included: basketry, ceramics,
decorative and wearable fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal,
mixed media, paper and wood. The 25th annual Philadelphia Museum of
Art Craft Show is organized and coordinated by Elissa Topol, Chair;
Katharine Padulo, Vice-Chair; and Nancy C. O'Meara, Show Manager.
